Fun facts about my lil lady
Advitha is now 16 months old, she is a sweet lil girl, soft in nature with lots of cute expressions, always a smiling beauty, articulating a lot with cute lil hands and babbling small words. She is not an aggressive baby, doesn’t throw things but sometimes adamant in getting things. Her intelligence and smartness at this infant age takes us aback. She is an extremely good learner, am sure that she’ll grow up very intelligent and a smart gal.
Adhu-the turning over stage
We call her Adhu/kunji/baby/chella kutty and what not .But Adhu/baby/ en kunjiye (by her dad) are the frequently used ones
A quick gist of what all our infant /lil gal/lovely baby is about .
Appearance: She is of a good height, I can see that she matches up to the height of two year olds, but slim in nature. Has got chubby cheeks but it goes off frequently with some godforsaken fever. She has a very dry skin and we massage her with lots of Vaseline. We used olive oil but it somehow did notsuit her. She’ll look very cute and girlish in frocks, in pants and shorts she’ll look more tomboyish. She was born with very good hair. We retained her good, soft, silky hair for her ayushhomam (first year completion religious ritual) and birthday party. Then we did a mottai/mundane for her.she'll lookawesome with bhindi (pottu)
Highly affectionate: Dotes on me, my hubby and my mom. She loves to play only around us. My hubby sweetly calls her as ‘aatai puchi’. She’ll not venture out even into another room if we are not there. Extremely attached to her grandmom (my mother). Calls both me and my mom as ‘amma’ . When we start off to work she says a cool ‘bye’ to both of us inferring to us that ‘ its okay you leave to work, I’ll enjoy with paati)
Admirable trait : She asks me permission before doing something naughty (A very unique, good trait at this infant age). Example, if she wants to splash her hand in our apartment swimming pool, she’ll point out to the pool and ask us permission with her ‘hmm hmm hmm’ sound. Neither she ‘ll go to the pool without me nodding my head nor she’ll leave the pool unless I permit her. If you ask her to put a cloth in washing machine, she picks up the cloth and puts it correctly in the machine. If we ask what is IN her mouth ( her great way of experimenting with things like any other kid is to put things in her mouth) she opens her mouth and shows, sometimes she just runs away
Articulative: If she wants milk, she puts her finger into her mouth and says ‘aaaa…’ . If natures call, she’ll clearly say ‘cac ca’ so that we can change her diaper. So easy for us to identify her needs
Communicative (with her sweet language): She says amma, appa, tha tha and lots of clear babbling. She says ‘thai thai’ and dances /pats one leg. Nowadays she says “Adhu-o-o;;;Adhu-o-o” so cutely. This is the lullaby we sing in our own tune to put her to sleep. If she wants to sleep she says this as a rhyme signaling us to carry her and put her down to sleep
Smartness: She can easily identify our car amidst a plethora of cars. For car she says ‘ca…’, for phone it is ‘phoooo…’ . Loves mobile phones. She’ll not accept the phone if you lock the keypad, she wants see the screens changing and if locked she’ll urge you to unlock it. She takes her mobile phone and keep walking imitating her dad
Naughtiness : She doesn’t take food very easily. We’ll have to do a circus, bring two bowls of water and while she plays with the water poring it in and out we’ll give her food. Sometimes she asks our mobile, her dad’s purse, my handbag , put everything in water and then only she eats. We (me and mom are her feeders) heave a sigh of relief after she completes a meal. But her fully filled tummy after each meal gives me tons of happiness.
The funny part is taking her to hotels and feeding her there. Inadvertently it’ll coincide with her feeding time, we normally take a big package (her food, waterbottle, sipper, diaper, change dress etc). The restaurant helpers will look us with hurt looking at the mess created around the place. But then its fine and fun at the end . She dislikes water, we ‘ll have to put sugar ,show the sugar to her and then give her, then only she’ll drink 2-3 spoons
Her diet is generally Morning-water, then bottle of milk (strangely she started the bottlefeeding only after she turned one),then juice, rasam rice by 11 , vegetable meal (veggies with curd-she is a curd freek) after two hours). She goes off to sleep and by 3.30-4 she has multigrain kanji/veegie kichdi with egg , then off to play in our apartment lawn for two hours with her paati . By 7 PM she has her apple stew and milk and by 9 PM finishes off her dinner (mostly curd rice)
She is not good with strangers. Doesn’t go them so easily.
I can just go on and on .More to come
