Adhu's love for icecream

Yesterday we had big holi celebrations in my apartment -Purva Fountain Square (more about my apartment in my forthcoming blog). The entertainment sessions (dances and songs from different states) happened in the dais near our club house and there were food stalls in the sides which were some 300-400 meters away from the dais and we need to take a small detour from the dais to reach the stalls. After watching some programs we went to the food stalls section and had cornetto ice creams in the kwality ice cream stall

We offered a small portion to Adhu which she loved it to no end. Then we went to the entertainment section and watched a few more programs. I was holding Adhu and after sometime she asked me to let her down and held my hand showing some direction, we both followed her awaiting where she is gonna take us. She took the correct route to food stalls section and went straight to the ice cream shop holding us tight .She stood there steadily pointing towards the ice creams posters. we were too surprised

Today's kids are too smart, God has made them at least one notch intelligent than we were, it is upto the parents to hone and nurture their smartness in an effective way

Adhu's day out ....

Today evening, we 3 went to my colleague Roopa's daughter Dhrithi's 3rd year birthday party at Banswadi. This forms part of old Bangalore and unlike Indiranagar, Marathahalli, Banaswadi had an old charm and was not overcrowded with international brands.

Dhrithi was looking cute in her pink dress. Adhu was dressed up in her blue chamki motif frock, she looked so galish and cute in it, me in my pink salwar which hubby gifted for my bday and hubby in his Tees and jean. We went at the correct time (so ironical as we are known for our non punctuality). Adhu was too fixed up with a yellow balloon hung at the party and went after it . A funny incident happd. There was a small boy (Dhrithi's friend) who took the yellow balloon which Adhu dropped and gave it to Dhrithi, Adhu ran after the balloon and Dhrithi gave it to her, again the boy grabbed the balloon from Adhu and gave it to Dhrithi, Adhu with her squeaky voice went again to Dhrithi and got the balloon back, Again the boy grabbed the balloon from Adhu for Dhrithi and this continued for 2 times. All of us watched this funny sequence and after sometime the boy got tired and Adhu was happy with her newly found treasure

Then we asked Adhu to give Dhrithi’s gift. Adhu grabbed  the gift from Dhrithi and gave it my hubby. hahahaha!!!!After a quick dinner we started from that place, on the way Adhu's hunger pangs had hit the hilt and we gave her already packed dinner from home at a hotel and headed to our home

Other kids growing up alongside Advitha

While i write a lot about Advitha, i constantly track the activities of other kids of close friends and relatives. Some of them are

Nikhil Krishnan: My sweet nephew. 3 months elder to my daughter. The mischievous naughty kutty has started to go to playschool. My manni/babhi doesn't have to go to gym. Running around him helps her to shed at least 10,000 calories everyday. As a good athai, i love to pamper my lil nephew with tons of gifts

  Adhu and Niku                                          cute nikhil
Vaishu: My great friend Aarti's daughter. Just turned one . Yet to see her. Now itself i am receiving lots of complaints from her mom about her naughtiness. Luv to c u soon vaishu

Mukund: My friend/colleague Sridevi's son. Just about the age of Nikhil , he looks damn smart

Adhu and Mukund

Dhrithi:friend/colleague Roopa's daughter. A very sweet  and cute three year old gal. I get very excited when i hear the jewel words she speaks

Sleepy Adhu as Dhrithi looks on

Akshith: My close friend Poorna's son. Very intelligent boy. Can identify the mobile company symbols now at the age of 3. enjoying in his playschool

Akriti and Aradhana: Akriti is c. 3 years old and aradhana her sis is 1.5 years. My close friend krithika's daughters. Krithu was our college diva. even gals will flaunt for her during college days. needless to say about her daughters. Both will look absolutely cute

Riya: My sis in law (hubby's cousin sister) daughter. She is c. 2 years old (can't get off analyst habits of writing c. for approx ). Donno much about her ,but rarely hear from hubby side relatives that she is growing up as a smart, cute gal

My lil lady Advitha

Fun facts about my lil lady

Advitha's first snap

Advitha is now 16 months old, she is a sweet lil girl, soft in nature with lots of cute expressions, always a smiling beauty, articulating a lot with cute lil hands and babbling small words. She is not an aggressive baby, doesn’t throw things but sometimes adamant in getting things. Her intelligence and smartness at this infant age takes us aback. She is an extremely good learner, am sure that she’ll grow up very intelligent and a smart gal.

                                     Adhu-the turning over stage

We call her Adhu/kunji/baby/chella kutty and what not .But Adhu/baby/ en kunjiye (by her dad) are the frequently used ones

A quick gist of what all our infant /lil gal/lovely baby is about .

Appearance: She is of a good height, I can see that she matches up to the height of two year olds, but slim in nature. Has got chubby cheeks but it goes off frequently with some godforsaken fever. She has a very dry skin and we massage her with lots of Vaseline. We used olive oil but it somehow did not suit her. She’ll look very cute and girlish in frocks, in pants and shorts she’ll look more tomboyish. She was born with very good hair. We retained her good, soft, silky hair for her ayushhomam (first year completion religious ritual) and birthday party. Then we did a mottai/mundane for her.she'll lookawesome with bhindi (pottu)

Highly affectionate: Dotes on me, my hubby and my mom. She loves to play only around us. My hubby sweetly calls her as ‘aatai puchi’. She’ll not venture out even into another room if we are not there.  Extremely attached to her grandmom (my mother). Calls both me and my mom as ‘amma’ . When we start off to work she says a cool ‘bye’ to both of us inferring to us that ‘ its okay you leave to work, I’ll enjoy with paati)

Sweetie's crawling stage

Admirable trait : She asks me permission before doing something naughty (A very unique, good trait at this infant age). Example, if she wants to splash her hand in our apartment swimming pool, she’ll point out to the pool and ask us permission with her ‘hmm hmm hmm’ sound. Neither she ‘ll go to the pool without me nodding my head nor she’ll leave the pool unless I permit her. If you ask her to put a cloth in washing machine, she picks up the cloth and puts it correctly in the machine. If we ask what is IN her mouth ( her great way of experimenting with things like any other kid is to put things in her mouth) she opens her mouth and shows, sometimes she just runs away

Articulative: If she wants milk, she puts her finger into her mouth and says ‘aaaa…’ . If natures call, she’ll clearly say ‘cac ca’ so that we can change her diaper. So easy for us to identify her needs

Communicative (with her sweet language): She says amma, appa, tha tha and lots of clear babbling. She says ‘thai thai’ and dances /pats one leg. Nowadays she says “Adhu-o-o;;;Adhu-o-o” so cutely. This is the lullaby we sing in our own tune to put her to sleep. If she wants to sleep she says this as a rhyme signaling us to carry her and put her down to sleep

Adhu-walkie walkie stage

Smartness: She can easily identify our car amidst a plethora of cars. For car she says ‘ca…’, for phone it is ‘phoooo…’ . Loves mobile phones. She’ll not accept the phone if you lock the keypad, she wants see the screens changing and if locked she’ll urge you to unlock it. She takes her mobile phone and keep walking imitating her dad

Naughtiness : She doesn’t take food very easily. We’ll have to do a circus, bring two bowls of water and while she plays with the water poring it in and out we’ll give her food. Sometimes she asks our mobile, her dad’s purse, my handbag , put everything in water and then only she eats. We (me and mom are her feeders) heave a sigh of relief after she completes a meal. But her fully filled tummy after each meal gives me tons of happiness.
The funny part is taking her to hotels and feeding her there. Inadvertently it’ll coincide with her feeding time, we normally take a big package (her food, waterbottle, sipper, diaper, change dress etc). The restaurant helpers will look us with hurt looking at the mess created around the place. But then its fine and fun at the end . She dislikes water, we ‘ll have to put sugar ,show the sugar to her and then give her, then only she’ll drink 2-3 spoons

Her diet is generally Morning-water, then bottle of milk (strangely she started the bottlefeeding only after she turned one),then juice, rasam rice by 11 , vegetable meal (veggies with curd-she is a curd freek) after two hours). She goes off to sleep and by 3.30-4 she has multigrain kanji/veegie kichdi with egg , then off to play in our apartment lawn for two hours with her paati . By 7 PM she has her apple stew and milk and by 9 PM finishes off her dinner (mostly curd rice)

She is not good with strangers. Doesn’t go them so easily.

I can just go on and on .More to come
