Activities together----starting with oil massage

As much as possible i try to do things together for both the girls. Akshara always loves being with her sister and Advitha is only happy to include her always-happy sister in her activities. But their age gap of 5 years is a huge drawback. Nevertheless we try to accomodate this practice as much as possible

This Diwali it was fun giving ganga-snanam to gether for the girls.. What a fun they had!!!

Kurumba village resort-Conoor

The diwali long weekend saw us in Kurumba village resort Conooor, actually the resort was before Conoor. I had read some awe reviews about it in tripadvisor and persuaded Arvind to book it (with fingers crossed!!).

What a place it turned out to be!!The resort in the side of a hill or perched in the hillside overlooking a beautiful waterfalls which was in full glory and the magnificent blue mountains on the other side. The drive through the sathy forest was really the best and Arvind at his best of his driving skills took us in straight 5.5 hours. The meals were very good and lots of activities for kids!!

Advitha enjoyed the forest trek, she walked through the forest with elan; ate nicely all the three meals and also involved in arts and crafts activities in the activity place. She participated in the housie game and danced like crazy during the games...

Aksha was a darling!!Had all three meals true to her foodie character, enjoyed the resort, walked the length and breadth of it...

All in all a great getaway!!

Dushera vacation-2014

Dushhera vacation in the apartment went in full glory. As always there as a Durgama pandal on one side and navratri golu on the other. Cultural programmes were organized on all the days..... and not to mention the yummy prasadam...

Advitha was there in two dances and she practiced diligently for two weeks before the programme. Her typical day during those practice days went like this: School till 3.30, laze around till 5 PM, then back to back dance practice till 6.30 PM and then some reading , wriitng till 7.30; dinner and crash. The gal put up wiyj all these very well...Of course it is dance and she wouldnt let go of it at anycost

She danced on two days-one on Shivasthuthi and another for Asai mugam song (the one she danced for her first stage performance). Hats off !to the mothers who gave a wonderful practice to the kids and they all put up a great show. Advitha had a wonderful 10 days vacation, morning it was playing with friends and evening was dance performance/busy watching other culturals.

She also participated in the drawing competition for Kids and won the second place. A 1000 rupees gift voucher which fetched a cute lehenga!!Her first award!!

Akshara was a happy camper. She accompanied her sister for all the practice sessions and enjoyed the performances clapping her hands...OMG!! how can i forget!!!she also did her first stage performance. Yes!...Two ladies were dancing for a krishna song and they needed a lil krishna at the end and Akshara was uninamously opted for it..The lil one was dressed up as krishna and did not shed a cry when the ladies took her in the midst of dance!!!!

Brithday parties-Akshara and Advitha

This time Advitha and Akshara's birthday parties was a big hit. Akshara's was celebrated at home and Advitha's at club house, her long pending desire.

Akshara's was celebrated at home with neighbors, lots of balloons, yummy food (cheese rolls, muffins, sandwiches, cakes) and dance performances by Advitha's friends. Akshara had a lovely time ;she even danced and clapped hands joyfully!!The big hit was her paati's filter coffee!!

Advitha's happened at the club house with a snow white theme party, we also called a master of ceremony (MC) to conduct games for kids and parents which was a big hit. Turnout was not as expected due to the long dushera holidays, but whoever came enjoyed nicely!!

For both the parties the kids got wonderful gifts..and had a great time!!!

Hello Advitha,

My big gal. You turn six. When you were one or two I thought when you were six you will turn highly mature in terms of eating, studying, start getting athletic or even start to understand people. But then you are still a baby. When you hug me every now and then, give you baby laugh at every tickle and say no before eating you are such a lil gal.

Food: You have certainly improved from being a 'no' eater to an 'okay' eater. You love Barbeque nation, pasta junctions and of course your favorite rasam and bindi curry. I am sure even on the day you leave to college you will have rasam rice and bindi curry..That much you love it...And one surprise is you have started to like badam, chocolate drinks.and how do i forget your favorite pani puris from Puchkas..you love it a ton. You have also started to eat breakfast, lunch at school in good portions...good going!!

School: Your school is transforming you and the whole household. Every one is planning the day in accordance with your study and school schedule. You have a tough schedule and your school bus is here sharp at 7 in the morning but you have no complaints, you hop happily into the bus every day. You have improved miles and bounds in your studies. When you started grade 1 you didnt know to write or read, we thought literally there will be a magic wand in school and you will become an expert or what an outstanding student...but what do you know!!! we were immediately called in the first month and said you need to improve your writing and reading abilities.. I tell you Adhu that was the worst day and then sense dawned upon us and we sat with you and explained the situation, you seem to partly understand it but you co-operated. With constant reading, writing practice you have now progressed to chapter books (currently reading Amelia Jane stories, I tell you every time you complete a chapter our hearts jump with you..Hats off to your perseverance!!! You make things happen.. We need to learn from you child. With respect to math, I can comfortably and proudly call you math wiz, you do additions and subtractions (with borrowings) at ease, you love your mindspark sessions and taking multiplications nicely!!!

Sister: You are an extremely commendable sister. You love her tons. When she is alone with you, I have no problems because you are hawk eyed that the gal does not put anything on her mouth.. But put that brat on to place. As much cute she is you have tons of patience in dealing with her, like when you are writing or drawing she comes and grabs the pencils and you so softly say..Aksha!!leave it baby!!OMG is that you Adhu.. so the tantrums are only for mumma and pappa is it!!!

Dance, friends, art: You are turning out to be an extremely good dancer, your body flexibility is helping you..friends come and go!!currently your bestie is A....ka, two of your close friends left the apartment, but still you are happy with your current friends. You do extremely well in your drawings and its only getting better these days

At the drop of my 'no' word, you stomp your feet and say 'mumma you are so bad, you dont even love me'. But I am determined, come what may I will stand by you and only get the best of you.. If you say I am the best and cool I think I am not doing my job properly... Baby.. you are the best and the whole household drives on you.. we love you the most and attempt to get only the best for you. Happy 6th birthday darling...May you be blessed with good health and happiness always!!

Hi Akshara

I never thought i would write birthday letters to another lil doll. But you are lucky. No let me correct myself. we are lucky to have you. you were born on Aug 23rd 2013 at 9.05 AM. Till now you would have cried only 10 times. .really I mean it.!! You wake up with a  smile; play and enjoy yourself thoroughly through the day ; eat nicely and go to sleep with a smile...when will all of us be like you darling!?
you are an amazing foodie!! You love to eat and experiment different types of food. You adore your elder sis..go wherever she is, sit with her , enjoy rummaging her cupboard and like her friends!!! ! you owe a ton to her..you have got lots of freinds, differen toys (which includes her pencils, notebooks, glitters, crayons), go to n number of brthday parties, have a super busy social life ....all because of her..but stop disturbing her too much like straight away grabbing her pencil and crayons when she is busy drawing and writing!!
You are an outright appa's girl..i have never seen you clinging to anyone except for you papa. You never miss a chance to go out with him, i think you also have a liking to all the servant maids in the home..you adore them even more than me ..brat I say!!
You are also a good traveller..so many trips in just a year..3-4 chennai trips, coorg, pondicherry and connor and you were a darling..absolutely not a cry..!!1
As a dear friend P says you are the most 'well behaved' baby..and neighbours envy and certainly our pride.
