Welcome 2012

2011 was a mixed bag..I faced a serious challenge in work front but somehow got over it with a good new job, Arvind changed to a new job only to know that his previous organization shut doors in a few months after he quit...We thanked God for showing us the right path..
Then the heroine,Advitha ,though got hospitalized twice closed the year with 1.5 kg more than the previous year...with slightly improved eating level...and a toddler who loves her school

All's well that end's well....Thank you 2011...Welcome dear 2012...

My only aim would be to 'Keep thoughts positive and be a good mother'...:)

Santa Claus came to town

Our apartment organized the function-A big fat santa would be giving gifts to kids, as planned we got Adhu's favourite paint boxes, brushes, books, bubble giftpacked and gave to our association. Adhu was super excited to receive gifts from santa...
The D-day came and we were all thrilled . To our surprise (read horror) there were 800+ gifts to be distributed by Santa and we were the 100th+...God !I found it so difficult to control the super excited Advitha and some how the turn came; we made her to sit in santa's lap ;clicked some snaps and came off!!!God ! today's parents including us are super competitive...hope it does not transform into extra pressure for the kids

Annual day and sports day

This is Adhu's first annual day ,held on Dec 8th, me and arvind took permissions and were at home at sharp 4 PM. By the time, Amma had made Advitha ready...lil one was too excited that she practised at home.
The dress was given by her school and brat looked like one buffon (sorry dear for saying this)...we  fed her and dropped her at 4.30 types to school.

Then we were asked to leave.Me and Arvind utilized the time went to a nearby mall, had snacks and drove to the programme at  6.30 PM. We were too excited to see whether she will dance, or stand still or cry or dance nicely... we couldn't even sit that we stood at the corner at a vantage point and waited to see the kid. And not to mention, the big stage ,the bright lights all were intimidating!!!

To our surprise she indeed danced nicely...though it lasted for only a minute...she danced coherently along with other kids...adorable i should say :)

Sports day
The following saturday was sports day...we had made a scarf like thing ready which was supposed to be used as an accesory. She was standing in a row waiting to run. And indeed she ran as well... i think she came 4th or 5th,nevertheless it was uber cute to see her running with a smile....

One award for Adhu's mummy

I never thought i'll do this... beacuse everyday i sulk to go to office...might be good managers and good work profile has done the magic despite the hectic workprofile

Yes got the superachiever award

Drawing drawing---as a result

We got the table and chair for her after scouting so many places ... she loves this and wish she uses this to the max....
(Not to mention ...how godaman expensive these stuff costs)

This is what she does at her peak time before starting to school when i struggle to get her ready for school

fun time with paati

This is what my mom teaches her to wile away the time.... its dancing gummi..thanathandhane thanathandhane

More painting

We got her faber castell colour paints... and four hours went off in a jiffy!!!but then pls don't ask me the fate of those paints later... as it became her dolls food when she mixed the paints with vaseline, some powder and made her dolls food.... yuckkk
enna pandradhu!!!we are all suckers living for our kids smile and happiness

New milestone-painting class

Yes ,we found her interest in painting when she started to scribble in every paper, empty space in wall... and when she can sit around for somtime for an activity...so thanks to my multi faceted apartment we found a painting class for kids and she started to go happily... its just one class and now she is hooked only to painting... its just a pretty, class sight to see her engrossed in painting and i feel really blessed

Now...she is able to draw within a boundary and look at her paati admiring her painting.....

Advitha cleaning the house

I am any MIL's delight to complain. I hate to clean my house let alone doing any work. But look at Advitha, she doesn't miss a chance to clean the house right from dusting, mopping, sweeping wow!!!

Adhu's bday party

This time Adhu's bday party was at home. we called a couple of pple ,their kids mainly her bus friends in the apartment. Initially we thought of getting a jazzy dress for her but then dropped the idea, but i sincerely regret for taking that stupid decision, anyway its a great lesson for us
Then a funny episode about return gifts.we (read 'Arvind') decided to get colourful bubbles for the kids instead of the usual books, pecils, sketches etc....i was convinced half hearted. But we decided to proceed
There was one cute kid 'Leisha', the kid took the bubble and asked us ,'aunty where is the return gift'? the kid refused to accept bubbe as return gift...i was like' beti take it,this is the return gift'...OMG it was a tough time to convince the kid..Anway another lesson learnt ......These kids accept only expensive gfts.

Overall it was nice and funfilled. The kids enjoyed and my brat enjoyed the party. What more is required !!!!

Oct 3rd 2011

Dear Advitha,

You turned three today darling. This year has been wonderful and challenging to us .You have started to rule the house. Your wish has become our command and indeed me,ur appa and bama paati are waiting to serve you all time

This time you had a nice birthday party at home-a simple, small and cute one.i loved it,though we compromised a bit on your dress and return gifts, we even took you to GK Vale portfolio to compensate for the dress disaster we did. That too, visits of relatives from Chennai made it a great one. you should be thankful to all the relatives-meera mami, shyam mama, shwetha pattu, nikhil, echu chithi, kolla thatha, ramu thatha and balu thatha all of them had come from chenni just to see you on ur birthday

From an innocent baby now you have grown up as a sweet toddler, you have made lil improvements in ur food habits but still a long way to go my dear.you seem to know everything of whats happening in the house, you talk and understand a lot and more importantly you think a lot which is too much for a three year old.You have annoyed quite a bit with your eating habits, especially when you take half an hour to drink your milk

But i sincerely apologize for having you hospitalized twice this year because of bacterial infection. I am so sorry,i don't know what i compromised, but still you showed that you are a courageous person just like your dad

We found that you are such a shy kid and you are ONLY comfortable with your parents and bama paati and of course with vanaja paati and ramu thatha. I sincerely feel that your network widens to include some more good people as well

Your specific likes:
-Play area especially Monkey maze
-our apartment club house
-Bubbles
-your dolls(motta papa,jojo's)
-friends (read only leisha,surabhi,manasa)
-school (now-a-days)
-Travelling....you just love it esp. if it is shatabdi (or 'shabtabdi' as you say it)
-ONLY curd in food items
-Jackie chan,Julie chan,Sumo cartoons...thanks to chutti TV
-pattu pavadai
Your face brightens for all the above

Your specific dislikes
-crowd esp. with rebelllious naughty kids
-House which has talkative people
-if i pay more attention to other kids

All said and done, you are a wonderful, pleasure to have kid...You are too intelligent and certainly a dream come true kid for me . We are not sure whether we will be having another kid. But if it happens the main challenge of that kid would be keep up to your level....because you are the BEST

I wish you grow up as a healthy, sensible lady

Luv
Amma

Marraige at chennai and berserk Adhu

We went to chennai  just for a day to attend my close cousin's marraige.  We spent the the whole day at the marraige choultary.initially i was a bit worried on how my brat would put up with the heat, big marraige hall, pattu pavadai, jewels, relatives gang et al...My hubby hardly communicates with people and me ,the people gal have always been fond of marraiges, relatives ....i was sure that i 'll just be runnin behind her for food and managing her cries
But surprise!!!Adhu has inherited me in moving with relatives..she went berserk seeing the marraige hall full of chairs, lil kids especially her lil nephew Nikhil, grand parents, aunts, uncles et al....I was so happy seeing all these things..Adhu had food without posing any problem, she spoke with all relatives, posed nicely for snaps, in fact danced a bit during the janvasam, dressed up in pattu pavadai with flowers and lots of bangles and finally went to sleep without baiting an eyelid from the morning
Spending with relatives...that too lovable, loved relatives is always fun

Kabini visit and lesson learnt

Adhu was taken to kabini. My parents also accompnied us. it's a jungle resort ,so just wanted to check how madam likes animals..the place was beautiful and we were taken for a 2 hour jungle ride and 2 hour river ride. in the forest safari,we sighted lots and lots of deers, some monkeys, wild dogs and in the river we sighted few elephants and a big crocodile...
Adhu, did not seem to  be a bit interested in animals.she was too scared at certain times... dozed off too.. so lesson learnt for us ,but of course we all had a great time
But one good thing was she was a darling during the travel.i think she has got nicely used to all the travel travails and she was putting up with the 6-7 hour car ride like a pro...good going gal, keep it up...now i know you are least interested in all jungles and your heart always lies in your 'PLAY AREA'

My gal is becoming MISS ATTITUDE

In the play area, Adhu was having serious fun with her current friend Manasa. she tried to involve in her rhymes-one among them was feeling and touching things with her 'two fingers'.Manasa being lil older kid ignored Adhu and ran away.my heart broke and i was seriously feeling bad for my darling..i even cribbed to Arvind when he was back from work and my hubby being the guy he is just laughed it out....
Few days later in chennai, the silly me asked her whether manasa ran away ignoring her...you know what she said 'yes mommy, 'ava odipoita loosu'. My god !!!i didn't know whether to feel happy or sad!!!
yes she knows how to survive...she did not sulk

Adhu and her dad has become serious arguers
Appa: hey pink dress, don't do that
Adhu:hey red dress (pointing to her dad),i will do that

God !!!kids these days are too much yaar

my shy gal

This was evident during the ‘cousins meet’ described in my previous blog…Adhu is an extreme shy kid….she gets intimidated very soon ,gets into a shell of your own and glued to me.i feel so bad for my lil gal..Because otherwise an active, extremely talkative kid gets into a cocoon when she sees rebellious kids. She takes lots and lots of time to get familiarized ,while it is stupid of me to say that I feel embarrassed, but really I feel bad for my lil gal…I get questions like …does your daughter know to speak?why is she so dull? Might be the problem is with me…I think I am exaggerating the situation…My dear gal…all I wanted to see u always happy and not like thew pic:
