Lil Adhu

Wonder whether she still still fits into the baby category, yes in terms of age of jus 17 months she is still a lil baby, but the maturity levels OMG,
  • She helps her paati in drying up clothes
  • if asked ,She  puts her clothes in washing machine
  • she reminds her dad to wear his glasses and she gets his glasses from his bag once he returns from office
  • she tells us thro her sign language of her dad's missed calls when he returns from the gym
  • she gets the milk tokens from her dad and keeps it outside at the designated place
  • To enjoy the train game in our apartment kids room, she first goes to the security guard ,indicates to us to get the play coins from him and then heads straight to the kids room.
  • now she has understood our reasoning out also-if she wants to spend more time in the lawn and if we take her in the mid way, she protests but if we say to her twice or thrice that its for her mum-mum break she understands
  • Today we took her to the play area where she enjoyed the swing for the first time and she was really screaming out with joy
Really each and every day she gives some sweet surprises to us

But then she has nicely started to show her protests if she dislikes something and her rememberance power is awesome  . nowadays her way of drinking water is we should give her a cup of water, immediately she wants us to put sugar in it (this sugar habit is introduced by her dad), then asks for a spoon, then with all the three  she goes and sits in the hall carpet to drink the water. She's very systematic n this carzy habit

On the other front, last weekend we had been to The Oriental Cusine in Whitefield with MIL, had nice Chinese food there, it was good. This weekend we are planning to go to som very good place mostly Zuri to celebrate a good occasion. Office is even more crazy with new projects, apparaisals etc

More to comeeee......

Adhu's fun with sprinklers

Gardening our apartment landscape which mainly involves watering using automatic water sprinklers is a regular activity undertaken by our apartment’s maintenance dept. The sprinklers are small in size ,fixed everywhere in the landscape and it automatically erupts from the ground and sprinkles water up to 10 meters distance . Today I took Adhu down when the sprinklers were in full function. She enjoyed by getting wet in the sprinklers and making all funny sounds. She moved along with the sprinklers and at one time she fell to the ground and the water was splashing at her at some good pace, she was totally unruffled. She played circling a specific area and was running throughout the area playing and getting wet in the 4 sprinklers that were in full function for that area. For 20 minutes, she was playing tirelessly and I had to pull her out of it. The happiness in her lil face was a treat to the eyes.

But I can’t continue this fun for her as the security people while we were heading home cautioned that it may not be good water. Nevertheless she had gr8 fun today. Also all of us including mom went to MTR (Mavalli Tiffin Room) which is famous for authenitic kanndiga dishes

BTW, today she said ‘train’ as ‘dhain’ for the first time, ., she has started to say ‘dhain’ whenever she hears train sound which is audible at my home

The other words recently pronounced by her are: Baby  as ‘Bibi’,,, Advitha as ‘Athatha’,,,,, Cooker as ‘Coka’….

Purva Fountain Square

It’s a dream come true apartment for us. It has 1200 apartments divided into 17 blocks of 13 floors each. Considering the size please don’t equate it to any government quarters. The apartment is U- shaped. 7 on each side and the rest on the other side. In the centre, we have a beautiful landscape with loooots of greenery. The striking features are

• World in itself: Our needs are completely met in the apartment. It has a veggie shop, general supermarket is about to come soon, dance, music, yoga, abacus, tennis classes. Other facilities include a nice party hall to hold small time parties; 24 hour call center for our service and 100+ securities for constant vigil.

• Fountains- the main highlight, there are different varieties of fountains-cascading type, small spewing one, roman type fountains. The best one is the cascading fountain. It’ll look like a waterfall and you can hear the sound of water falling from your home which is relishing

• The two bridges connecting both the ends is remarkable

• Then the club house with gym, squash, Jacuzzi, steam ,sauna

• Needless to say about the confluence of people from different states- malayalis; tamilians; kannadigas; punjabi’s ; marwaris ; Andhrites ;Bengalis and many moreee who celebrate their respective festivals with excitement. Due to this mini-India culture we got to know abt the essence of other festivities like Lohri; karwa chauth; holi and Saraswathi pooja (the one celebrated by Bengalis in January)

Apart from that there is a kid’s play area, jogging track and many more. The apartment has inside and outside views. Inside views face the beautiful landscape. My hubby chose one of the inside facing apartment in the 6thfloor. The view from my house is breathtaking. Though there are minor pitfalls like improper plumbing; leakages at certain places, brickbats, the benefits it offers outmatches the snags

Financially it was a bit of stretch for us but its reaping great returns in terms of satisfaction ,happiness and contentment
It’s a great place for kids to grow up and my daughter is having a lovely time in this place.

Esthireeee!!!!

It’s interesting to list down the key events of my being post marriage. My hubby Mr A is cool headed; fitness freak; active; smart looking (barring his pervading sottai); intelligent; calmness personified; methodical and forgetful in nature too. Now-a days after me it’s my daughter who is reminding him of his glasses. More than a normal loving hubby he has loads of admirable traits. I usually tell me parents that each and every day I get to learn something from him.

But he is not a highly romantic, lovey-dovey, chocolate boy husband and I’ve got used to it. While I am a local, Tamil breed (தமிழ் வாழ்க!!!!) he is contemporary and an inglipish man. A quick gist of our journey so far:

2006:
Jan 20: Our marriage. An arranged one with complete blessings from relatives and friends .My parents made it as a grand, striking affair .Food was highly praised by everyone
Jan end: Honeymoon to Munnar and then off to Bangalore –our new residential city
 Feb: Joined new workplace
May: Had to get my knee operated for an infection .one month rest at Chennai then off to Blore
August: Brother’s marriage at Trichy –manachanallur. It was a nice place where river Cauvery was flowing to the brim

2007 (Oorsuthi year):
Jan: Off to Singapore for 3 days. Visited Jurong bird park; Sentosa island;Orchard st;full city tour; Jungle safari
May: Trip to Himachal. Visited Shimla, Kufri and Chail. Did not enjoy much as shimla was overcrowded and it was tooo hot. Both turned black and became slightly unwell too
August: Off to Goa . Wow!!! What a place, complete relaxation; stayed at a five star resort; awesome meal and loads of fun
Oct: To Kumarakom, nice pretty place. Huge lake; the boat ride in the country canal was impressive. The one day stay at houseboat was adventurous. No wonder it’s called as India ’s Venice

2008 (The year J)
Jan: Great trip to Manali to experience the snowfall. Sub zero temperatures; awesome food; lots of tea (my favorite); playing in the snow and great time
Feb 3rd: Yes my pregnancy got confirmed. Both of us were jubiliant . I was offering silent prayers that it should be a gal
August: My valaikappu function held at Bangalore . Me and my hubby organized the function completely. The day before relatives from Chennai came home. My paati’s (no-more now) arrivial made me extra cheerful. I wanted to have the Seemandham function as well which is intended to give a grand welcome to the new comer , but unfortunately had to restrict it to only valaikaapu .
Oct 3rd 2008: Delivered my daughter at Lakeside hospital , Bangalore . Can’t forget this day . Had a c-section but everything went uneventfully. When I heard from my doctor (Dr. Lathika) that it’s a gal, I was so jubiliant that the anesthetic effect disappeared completely

2009:

Oct ’08- March 2009: Enjoyed my maternity leave taking care of my baby’s needs. My mom was there for 2 months and hubby grand mom for about a month. Then I took the rein of baby sitting and did a fair job. Though my mat leave did not go peacefully my baby’s growth brought lots of joy to me and hubby
Apr : Mom’s arrival and joined my work back .
June: Shifted to our new place
Sep: My dear paati passes away
Sep end: My daughter’s ayushhomam function at Chennai organized by in laws
